Our teachers and students love to meet new students so they’re going to be very excited to meet you. There’s no need to feel nervous because our teachers are trained to make sure every student is included and welcomed in the class. Your first day of class you will get to meet lots of new friends, a new teacher, and try new things.
How can you be prepared?
Studio Classes: Please refer to our website to check out the dress code for class. If you’re taking a trial class you don’t need to have full dress code just come in comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle and dance shoes and come ready to work hard!
Mobile Classes: There’s no dress code for mobile classes. Students will need to bring their dance bag with their dance shoes and teddy bear to class and that’s it! The teacher will pick them up right from their classroom and take them to the dance room to start class.
What will class look like?
Studio Classes: Class will begin with stretching and warm-ups. After this the students will move into technique work which may be across the floor or center floor routines that match the style of dance they are in. The second half of class will focus on choreography and learning a dance for the winter or spring recital. Depending on the age of your student the class may include games and activities as well.
Mobile Classes: Class will begin with stretching and warm-ups that are ballet or tap focused. After this the students will do a fun monthly-dance along that will allow them to get their energy out during a fun song. The students will then go across the floor using doing steps in either ballet, tap, jazz, or hip-hop. The students will then work on their winter or spring recital piece. After this they will get to play a game! We love to incorporate dance games throughout the lesson to keep the class fun while still learning new things.
